Growing up on a ranch meant that, while Duncan might not like farmwork, he understood the necessity of it and would do his part with only a few weary sighs instead of vocal complaints. He did, however, manage to con his way into a low-key job that kept him in one spot under the premise that he needed to be easy to find and able to drop whatever he was doing at a moment's notice in case anybody ended up in need of emergency medical attention. Accidents happened, you know? And heatstroke. That too.
So, for most of the week, he was assigned to the simple but tedious task of sorting seeds and handing out supplies. He was a pretty distinct figure among the workers, wearing a Stetson and cowboy boots along with a lab coat. Look, the boots were comfortable and the Stetson helped prevent heat stroke, and the lab coat identified him as a doctor. It was practical, alright? And maybe he was just a little bit more Texan at heart than he liked to admit.
No accent, though. He kept that shut up tight. You'd have to be listening awful close to hear any hint of a twang.
Anyway, whether you're there for a bag of seeds or a shovel or even some Deere keys, feel free to bother the cowboy doctor handing them out. Also feel free to bother him if you're bleeding or fainting, that too. That's primarily what he's there for, anyway.
Whichever farm you want, friends (OTA)
